02/15/2010 - New York, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Connecticut was again a unanimous choice as the top-ranked team in women's college basketball, as the Associated Press released its latest poll Monday.
The Huskies (25-0) enter the week with a 64-game winning streak, just six shy of the record set by a UConn team from 2001-03. Connecticut, which has won each of those 64 games by double digits, received all 40 first-place votes and a total of 1,000 points from a nationwide media panel to extend its record reign atop the poll to 39 consecutive weeks.
There was no change among the top 10 teams this week.
Stanford (23-1), with its only loss coming against UConn, again held at No. 2, while unbeaten Nebraska (23-0) remained third and was followed by Notre Dame, Tennessee, Xavier, Ohio State, Duke, West Virginia and Florida State.
The second 10 consists of Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa State, Georgetown, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Georgia Tech and Georgia. Baylor dropped seven spots after losses to Oklahoma and Iowa State last week, while the Cyclones' 69-45 win over the Lady Bears vaulted them seven spots from 20th.
Gonzaga, St. John's, LSU, TCU and Vanderbilt are the last five teams ranked this week. Vanderbilt is the only newcomer, replacing North Carolina. The Tar Heels were 18th last week, but are now unranked for the first time since November of 2001.
