Red Sox release Hermida from minor league assignment

Hermida had been designated for assignment earlier in the season and cleared waivers and was assigned to Triple-A Pawtucket. In 19 games with the Triple-A club, he batted .288 with two homers and 12 RBI.
In 52 games for the Red Sox in 2010, Hermida batted just .203 with a .257 OBP, five homers and 27 RBI.
